Business Plan Research Workshop Series

Are you working on a business plan? Horn Library is offering a workshop series to help you effectively find the information you need for your plan in your industry.

Series Workshops:

  • Know Your Industry: Find the 3Ms – Market demand, Market structure, and Margins. Take a look at key industry and market resources that give you trends, market size, segmentation, key success factors, operating ratios and other info on your industry. Identify key associations and trade journals for in-depth information.
  • Consumer Markets: What can you find out about your consumers? How many are there? Are the numbers growing? Where do they live? What are their characteristics? Take a look at key sources for market research, consumer demographics, and consumer behavior.
  • Going Global or Staying Local: This workshop focuses on both global and local markets.
    • Going Global: Are you locating your business overseas? Take a look at the key sources for doing business in…. Find out where you can get data on country consumer and business markets.
    • Staying Local: Find out how to estimate the your market size in a specific US area, or determine the characteristics of consumers in your town or zip code area, or characteristics of consumers in a metropolitan area.
  • Simmons/Scarborough for Consumer Behavior: Do you need to know about a specific demographic group? Learn how to create customized reports on a target market such as people who buy designer jeans or women who purchase wine in the Boston area.
  • Business Plan Research in a Nutshell (Open Clinics): Stop in and ask questions related to your business research.
