Hello everyone! My name is Andrew Darling and I am a junior here at Babson. I worked in the office over the summer and am now back on campus after finishing an amazing semester abroad. During the past semester, I participated in one of Babson’s study abroad programs titled BRIC: The Cornerstone of the Global Economy. This program informs students on the emerging business environments of the BRIC nations by traveling to Russia, China and India. Students are emerged within each country’s culture and receive a holistic view of each country’s emerging markets.
Since arriving to campus, I have often reminisced about the BRIC program. For example, it felt great to finish class in Shanghai and then travel to Pudong for lunch overlooking the Bund. Here is a picture of the Pearl Tower taken from the 83rd floor of the World Financial Tower:
BRIC was such a wonderful and unique experience that it made it a little difficult to come back; however, I missed the Babson community and the people I have grown close to here over the past two years. Needless to say, I am extremely happy to be back on campus and look forward to seeing what this semester has in store!
