Chinese Spring Festival and More!

Yizhen Hu ’14:

The Babson Rocket Pitches at the Festival

Hello readers, I am Yizhen, the piano’s keeper working for Sorenson Center for the Arts. I am also a CSA e-board member and I helped organize the Chinese Spring Festival Event this year. For those of you who missed that, I am going to retrospect the wonderful evening so that you can expect at the next one! The performances included a dragon dance and the Rocket Pitch Acappella, as well as others. One performance that is especially worth noticing is Fashion Evolution, which introduced the representative Chinese daily outfits from the first dynasty Qin to modern times. The performance reached a climax when all the audience and performers joined the traditional Chinese game– shuttlecock kicking competition. Just FYI, there was also a big dinner with 10 courses that came along with the performance. Don’t miss it next year!

As the piano’s keep, I would also like to introduce you all the piano resources we have on Babson campus. Upright pianos in rehearsal room, practice room 1& 2 and electronic piano in Park Manor Central band room requires Onecard access. Pianos that do not require Onecard access include a grand piano in Glavin Chapel (which is many people’s favorite on campus), upright pianos in Knight Auditorium, Park Manor North basement and Van Winkle common room. There is also a grand piano on the theater stage that is only used for performances. Last but not the least, we hold concerts of various styles every semester (including jazz, piano, Acappella, cabaret etc.) and hope you to join the performance and “wow” the campus!
