Time Management : Working on Projects

It can be difficult balancing your time while you have an internship. Summer is out and you want to have fun while you are gaining experience. Here are some of the tips that I have accumulated after one month into my internship while working on projects:

  1. Plan, plan, plan! Have a plan and stick to it. Personally, when I write something out, it helps me be more aware of the tasks I have yet to complete. Whether it be writing down your tasks physically or putting it into a digital calendar, these methods can be very useful.
  2. Be consistent. Following tip #1, be consistent in your materials and the quality of the work you put out. Make sure that the content or projects are the best in every area. Take that extra 10 minutes or even an hour to make your materials the best that it can be.
  3. Follow through. After writing an email with no reply or getting a reply from an individual, write a follow up. This can be a thank you note or asking about their day. Doing this is great for relationship management. Having these people in your contact list can be very useful in the long run.

With these tips, you can have a relaxing summer while managing projects for your internship.
