Make the Most of your Summer Internship

Most likely you spent a lot of time leading up to the summer applying for summer internships… including resume critiques, cover letter writing, interviewing networking events, and more… hopefully your hard work paid off and you are preparing to start your summer internship experience.

It is one thing to show up to work each day, it is another to truly make the most of your summer internship experience. This decision will make or break you in the eyes of your employer as well as support your professional development. Professional Services firm, PricewaterhouseCoopers shares a great and simple list of how to make the most of an internship experience: PwC Making the Most of Your Internship. We often hear networking within your experience is key, and that is listed here as it is valuable experience, but I also enjoyed the reminder to stay focused and be professional. A summer internship can be an extremely valuable experience if you make it one, it is in your hands.

CCD is here and open while you are off campus this summer. Career Advisers are happy to meet with you to talk about your experiences and keep your head in the game to have a competitive and successful fall recruiting season.

For those of you that are local to Babson/Boston area, please save the evening of Wednesday, July 15th. CCD invites you to a local spot downtown for after work refreshments. We want an opportunity to check in about how your internship experience is going and provide an opportunity to catch up with some recent grads who had internships last summer and how they made them a success. Invitation and details to follow…
