the 9 to 5 life

Although i’m working for one of the largest media companies in the world as a digital ad sales intern, and communicating with employees who do all kinds of crazy things for Viacom, I think what I learned about life and time management has been so much more important than anything else. Sleeping 8 hours, working 8 hours plus 3 hours of total time spent getting ready and travelling each day only leaves me with 5 hours to my self. These past few weeks have really taught me to do what is important to me. My time is very limited and I can’t waste it doing activities I don’t love. This also reminds me of an audiobook  I’ve heard recently titled “Essentialism” by Greg McKeown. This books speaks about how being busy doesn’t mean you’re being productive and how the only true way to become happy is to define and pursue what is essential to you. My goal for this summer is to define what is essential to me.
