March Madness

Personally and professionally, March is one of my favorite times of the year. In our office, we are currently finalizing admission decisions and getting ready to release them this coming Sunday, March 9th. Counselors in our office may also start doing a little bit of spring travel for Babson (I’m headed to Illinois tomorrow and conducting interviews this weekend in the Chicago area for current high school juniors). However, perhaps most importantly, we have the convergence of a bunch of different sports along with (hopefully) warmer weather. Our Women’s Basketball team advanced to the NEWMAC Semifinals, our Men’s Hockey Team will be playing for the ECAC Champsionship this coming Saturday, and our Men’s Basketball team just found out that they were selected for the NCAA Tournament starting this Friday. All of this will be leading right into our spring sports starting.

With so many big games taking place, it’s a really fun time on campus. Whether you are one of the student-athletes playing, or one of their classmates and friends going to cheer them on, it’s great to see everyone get so excited. For our office, it’s really cool to see the student-athletes and coaches you worked with throughout the admission process have so much success on and off the court (or ice, or field, or track, or pool…).

A few members of our staff (including three of your favorite bloggers) taking in the Babson Hockey game last weekend that sent the Beavers to the Championship.

So, I want to wish our Men’s Basketball and Men’s Hockey teams luck in their upcoming games during this exciting time of year – I haven’t ruled our a road trip should my schedule permit, so no pressure. Also, I know those of you who have applied to Babson may be getting a bit anxious about the release of decisions on Sunday; that is very understandable. However, please know that we have put a lot of thought into building the class of 2018 and we are looking forward to seeing you on campus at some point this spring! Keep checking in for exciting updates on Babson168, our admitted student day.

I also want to give a special shout out to a certain Admitted Early Decision Applicant and future Babson student from New Jersey who told one of our counselors that she checks our blogs everyday hoping for a new post. Well, here you go! Hopefully this will tide you over until we post something later this week!
