Partnerships between CCD and Student Organizations – A Winning Combination!

This blog was written by Babson Student, Arjun Murthy ’15

My name is Arjun Murthy, and I’m a member of delta sigma piDelta Sigma Pi, a professional business fraternity here at Babson. Recently, our organization hosted a “professional boot camp” to help participants better prepare themselves for the professional world and last week’s Internship Fair, organized by CCD.  The event focused on a number of items, including academic concentrations anDSPBootCampd courses available at Babson and how they might link to a future career.  A highlight of the event was the resume formatting section, which was hosted by Jacob Vick, a CCD Peer Career Ambassador.  Jacob came because our organization had reached out to CCD to ask if they could assist us in hosting the event. During the event, Jacob talked about some key points regarding resumes, including common mistakes to avoid.  After his presentation, Jacob talked with participants and helped answer questions they had about resumes.  He even gave some valuable input during our “mock interview” sessions.  Overall, it was very beneficial to work with CCD and a Peer Career Ambassador like Jacob to help organize an event that resulted in valuable learning for all.

A note from CCD:  We are so pleased to have five Peer Career Ambassadors (PCAs) as part of our team.  You can find one of them in our office (Hollister 106) every day of the week.  They are wonderful resources, and have wonderful career experiences to share with you.  Stop by and say hello!
