June Market
It has already been a month since I started my internship and the time has actually flown by! In the fashion industry, June is “market” month, during which the next season’s collections for clothing and accessories have to be sold. Over the last few weeks, buyers from department stores like Saks and Bergdorf Goodman, as well as buyers from small boutiques or online stores have come into the Alberta Ferretti showroom to view the collection and select the pieces they wish to purchase for their stores. It was a busy and hectic month for us, because we would have clients coming in all day long, which meant I would have to (along with the other interns) constantly keep the showroom looking perfect, dress the models, and make sure everything is running smoothly. With July coming up, the work load will be much less intense, because the market is now over. This coming week, we have 2 more interns joining us, one of which is Alberta Ferretti’s close family friend! It will be interesting to see a new dynamic in the office with the new interns and a less chaotic month ahead.
