Undergraduate Blog / Defining Your Babson

Time flies when you’re loving life!

Cheers friends!

You’ll be seeing quite a few of my blog entries here so I thought I that I’ll start off by introducing myself.

My name is Shoney Yakubjanov and I am a proud member of Babson College’s class of 2012. I come from the sunny and very welcoming post-soviet nation of Uzbekistan and am honored to attend Babson as one of the first members of the Weissman Scholars Program (I’m the fourth from the left in the photo below).

Like most Babson students I live a busy lifestyle that consists of work, clubs, keeping up good grades and trying to stay in shape.

I work two jobs on campus both of which I absolutely love. My first job is working as an intern at the Office of Undergraduate Admissions where I do all I can to let the world know about how incredible this institution truly is. I do this by helping organize preview days, info-sessions, tours and assisting with the social media outreach. My second job is being the Eco-Rep Coordinator at Babson’s Office of Sustainability. Here I manage a group of 14 students to create and execute projects aimed at rebranding the perception of environmental sustainability on campus and bring about a more eco-friendly campus culture.

Aside from my two jobs I am also the President of the Babson Green Tower, a living & learning community devoted to a sustainable way of life and doing business.  I also happen to be one of the founding brothers of the Iota Omicron Chapter of the Delta Tau Delta fraternity at Babson College. Over my time here I was able to get involved with a number of other initiatives as well. I won’t list them here, but if you’re interested you can check them out on my LinkedIn profile under Organizations: http://www.linkedin.com/in/shoneyyakubjanov

Last, but not least I am concentrating in marketing & entrepreneurship. I love creating and investigating ways to improve business models, working with people and operating in fast-paced environments.  Getting to the end of my college career I am now looking for a company that will match my high level of energy and love for innovation.

Looking forward to telling you guys more about Babson!
