Undergraduate Blog / Defining Your Babson

Busy, Busy Beavers

Hello Sunshine!

Finally the bright, shining, warm sun visited New England this past weekend, and it could not have been a better time.  As Lee mentioned in his last blog (right below), this past Friday was Basically Babson Day.  It  was a successful event!  To start things off, the weather cooperated.  Over the past four or so years it has always rained on Basically Babson Day, so this year the Admissions Office ordered 1000 ponchos to hand out to visitors if needed – but we didn’t need them, YAY!  Throughout the day we had various events admitted students could attend such as classroom simulations, Honors Program information sessions, Career panel of current and graduated students, and an organizational fair with FME business and various campus organizations present.  All in all, everyone seemed pleased and enjoyed the events of the day.

In addition, we had students who accepted Babson’s Diversity Scholarship, among other scholarships such as Women’s Leadership and Presidential Scholarship, visit Babson for an elegant dinner and an overnight.  The visiting students picked a great weekend!!  Here is a quick glimpse of the popular events Babson students attended during this gorgeous weekend:

– Sigma Kappa 24-hour Karnival: April 7th @ 5pm until April 8th @ 5pm with a Dunk Tank, Grilled Cheese, Popcorn & Cotton Candy on Park Manor Quad

– Kappa Kappa Gamma Nacho Bar: April 7th with a full display of nachos and all the toppings at Barefoot Park

– Celtics Game with Weissman Scholars: transportation and tickets provided by Babson College

– Spring Concert: Ke$ha’s Get $leazy Tour opening with Beardo at Pepsico Pavillion

– Boys Lacrosse and Baseball Double Header Home games on April 9th

– It was 75 degrees here at Babson Park in Wellesley on Sunday and there were multiple BBQ’s, frisbee games, and students outside everywhere ALL DAY enjoying the fabulous weather

As you can tell, it was a fun weekend to be a Babson student and hopefully if the sun decides to stay here for a bit, we can enjoy the remaining events as well.  That’s a quick update for the Beavers! I am off to Hoboken, New Jersey for apartment searching this Friday!  I will talk to you all soon, and hopefully return with some great news about finding a place to live for my new job… which starts June 21st!!
