Babson Class of 2014 – Get Connected

Welcome to the Babson class of 2014! You are about to embark on an amazing journey with some incredible people in the Babson community. My simple message to all of you is this – Get Connected with Babson.

Connect with the Community -You will be connecting with new friends from all over the world, connecting yourself in fascinating courses, and connecting with exciting student organizations.

Connect Using Social Media: Many of the Babson community staff and faculty are using Facebook, Twitter ,and Linked-In as opportunities to keep our communication on-going throughout the semester here: For example, you can follow me on Twitter at @DeanRMajor. Please try to take advantage of this level of engagement.

Connect outside the community – The Bernon Center for Public Service office provides a variety of opportunities to give back in meaningful and purposeful ways to community.

Connect with your First Year Seminar (FYS) team. They will consist of a staff instructor, faculty advisor, and a peer mentor. These three individuals will guide you through many important discussions over the course of the semester and guide you through a variety of activities.

Connect with the faculty and staff. There are too many to mention, but these individuals will provide the foundation for your entire Babson experience.

Connect with the Facilities and Sodexo Staff – These are some of the most dedicated and hard working people you will come to know at Babson. Thank them often for their efforts.

Connect with First Year Academic Services Team. Brian Duggan and I will be your primary points of contact for personal and academic support. In addition, Sandy Siciliano, Kate Tippo and Jim Berrigan are professional staff in the Office of Academic Services who will be very helpful with any issues that may arise. We are located on the second floor of Hollister Hall.

I hope you fully embrace the college experience and have a tremendous amount of fun at Babson. You have chosen a great college and it is time to get connected.
