Coaching First Year Students

Last week, many of Babson’s first year students participated in the Coaching for Leadership and Teamwork Program.  This program, which is in it’s 12th year at Babson, is an amazing opportunity for students to receive feedback on their performance on a series of case of studies.  The students are always a bit apprehensive at first, feeling a little intimidated of the idea of being “watched”, but they quickly get into to the task at hand.  Students and Coaches both comment that this a very powerful experience.

The coaches are predominately alumni of Babson who are trained prior to participation in the program.  Students have a one on one feedback session with their coach.  This type of feedback is really powerful during the first year of an undergraduate education.  Students also have the opportunity to network with a wide variety of business professionals from the greater Boston area.

Students have another opportunity in their junior or senior year to participate in another coaching program, they can see how well they have progressed in the areas might have needed some development.
