Creating Social Value Blog / Social Innovation

One Millennial to Another

Global Scholar Marvin Tarawally ’17 recently published a powerful blog post on the challenges he sees facing his generation and how he believes a sea change can be created: Millennials and the Challenge of Our Generation. We are so proud of this action-based approach to social impact we are seeing taking hold here at Babson:

“Barack Obama wisely said that: ‘Change will not come if we wait for some other person or some other time. We are the ones we’ve been waiting for. We are the change that we seek.’ We do not have time for apathy. We must act. First, take action to boost your awareness of global issues. Read widely. Get involved in groups and conversations that expose you the realities of our shared world. Then, take meaningful, deliberate steps to make a difference.”

In addition to being the Co-founder SMART Liberia, Marvin is part of the leadership team behind the upcoming Babson Social Innovation Summit (BASIS) taking place April 7-8. As a Partner in BASIS, we are excited to see this annual student-organized event taking root and encourage you to apply to pitch or check out the schedule and register to attend!
