Statement from President Kerry Healey in Support of the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) Program and Undocumented Immigrant Students

Babson College places great value on diversity of all kinds. Our students represent more than 80 countries, our network of 40,000 alumni and friends extends to 114 countries, and our faculty and staff hail from six continents. This multitude of backgrounds and perspectives enriches our community and contributes to Babson’s unique and transformative educational experience. Babson students develop a truly global entrepreneurial mindset and are prepared to lead and make a difference in our rapidly changing world.

I recently joined 638 college and university presidents from across the U.S. to express my support for the for the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) Program and undocumented immigrant students. The statement emphasizes Babson’s support for DACA beneficiaries and, in particular, notes the many contributions of students and alumni who are part of that program.

Babson will continue to support, advocate for, and welcome students of every race, religion, nationality and ethnicity – regardless of citizenship or immigration status. I want to reiterate that academic, financial aid and admissions records are regarded as highly confidential. Babson is committed to protecting the privacy of our students and these documents will only be shared if required by a federal subpoena – never proactively.

Additionally, the singular focus of the Babson College Police and Public Safety Department is to ensure a safe living, learning and working environment for all faculty, staff and students. These teams work diligently to keep our campus safe and secure.

Babson College is a diverse global community of students, faculty, staff, alumni and friends who seek to harness the power of entrepreneurship to transform lives, businesses and communities for the better. We will continue to offer a safe and supportive environment for all students, to foster a diverse and inclusive campus, and to embrace and expand our global community.

Sincerely,

Kerry Healey
President
