Babson Hosts Wearables Hackathon February 24, 2017

The Babson Fashion Entrepreneurial Initiative and the IoT Initiative at Babson College are hosting the Wearables Hackathon on Friday, February 24, 2017, from 8:45 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., in the Butler Venture Accelerator at the Arthur M. Blank Center for Entrepreneurship at Babson College.

Wearables Hackathon

Students will use wearable technology to experiment with creating new products.  Faculty members Caroline Daniels of the Entrepreneurship faculty and Ruben Mancha from the Technology, Operations, and Information Management (TOIM) faculty will lead the event, which will feature a Design Thinking Session with TOIM Professor Victor Seidel.

Student teams will compete throughout the day to see which one can create the most effective and creative wearable.

They will also:

  • Discuss the state of the art of the wearables and fashion industries
  • Learn how to apply design thinking to the development of wearables
  • Interact with wearables devices.

Technology for the event has been provided by the Benson Student Technology Fund.
