Babson’s Associate Director of Wellness & Director of Sexual Assault Prevention and Response Services Ashleigh Hala was a speaker for the ‘October: A Month of Domestic Violence Awareness, The impact of domestic violence on us and across communities as a whole’ panel at the Office of the Attorney General on Friday October 21, 2016. The panel was presented by the Attorney General Institute in partnership with the Community Engagement Division & the Victim Compensation and Assistance Division.

There were five panelists including the Honorable First Justice, Judge Kathleen Coffey, Dr. Jenifer Drew, Professor Karin Raye, Ashleigh Hala, and Jessica Teperow. This event highlighted the important work that each of the panelists does in order to assist various domestic violence prevention programs and to raise awareness and provide assistance across the community at large through colleges, courts, and prisons.  Through discussion they learned that by having these programs and awareness efforts in place, real change is possible and survivors and communities may be strengthened and empowered.  These efforts and the power of knowledge help us to shape and strengthen our own communities.
