ZBoard Skateboard MBA MCFE Project: Final Update

By: How Lau Mendez, Fast Track Student

The demand for ZBoards is increasing. Last week ZBoard assembled and shipped 200 ZBoards. The company also appeared on Discovery Velocity’s Tech Toys 360. The continued visibility of the product is contributing to an increasing global fan base.

At the very last ZBoard client meeting we presented our final findings. We  recommended that ZBoard continue to analyze costs, promote their products, and leverage social media channels.

We enjoyed working with and learning from Intuitive Motion’s founders, Ben and Geoff on this Management and Consulting Field Experience (MCFE) and Startup America project. The opportunity to work on a startup that has already gained momentum and support from established organizations like Startup Chile and San Diego’s SDSU has been a great experience for all of us.

As Babson students who are passionate about entrepreneurship, we’ve also appreciated working with a startup that values and emphasizes entrepreneurial thinking and acting.

We wish Ben and Geoff the best of luck on their business and future endeavors. We will continue to keep in contact with them.

Thank you very much to everyone who supported us and followed our progress on this project.

This post is part of a series featuring the progress made on consulting services to ZBoard by a team of Babson Fast Track students in Babson’s MBA MCFE class. ZBoard, a weight-sensing electric skateboard, won these consulting services as the result of a contest sponsored by the Startup America Partnership, Shark Tank’s Daymond John, and Babson College. The Management Consulting Field Experience (MCFE) provides graduate students an opportunity to deepen their knowledge and experience in an industry or career concentration.
