Bootstrapped And Expanding: Pint Media’s Drink & Hunt Launches On West Coast
The bootstrapped mobile-enhanced events startup founded in May 2010 with $500 and a “fun idea”, is expanding beyond the confines of Boston to San Francisco, CA after only 8 months of operations. Citing the success of its Drink & Hunt events in the Boston metro area, the team has hired a local manager to oversee operations and provide a on-the-ground point of contact for companies, consumers and alumni groups seeking to do something different, engaging and highly social.
“We’ve had a lot of fun and learned a ton in the past eight months”, says co-founder Ben Saur, “the response to our events has been fantastic, with groups as large as 180 people Hunting with us”. The Pint Media team hopes to continue their success in San Francisco with the Drink & Hunt game while exploring other web-enhanced events to add to their portfolio.
With its expansion to San Francisco, the team expects to further enhance game play, incorporate local trivia, and use the new west coast city as a model for further growth in other metro areas.
Pint Media’s expansion of the Drink & Hunt game also coincides with the first major redesign of its web page, featuring city specific landing pages, improved registration processes and greater social media integration.
