Babson Professor of Marketing Dhruv Grewal Receives 2016 Sheth Foundation/Journal of Marketing Award

Babson Marketing Professor Dhruv Grewal along with Robert W. Palmatier, Rajiv P. Dant, and Kenneth R. Evans received the 2016 Sheth Foundation/Journal of Marketing Award for their article “Factors Influencing the Effectiveness of Relationship Marketing: A Meta-Analysis.” The article appeared in the October 2006 (Volume 70, Number 4) issue of the Journal of Marketing.

Nominations for the award were solicited from members of the JM Editorial Review Board, and a committee of former journal editors— Gary Frazier (chair), Roger Kerin, and David Stewart —made the selection. The award is given to honor an article that has made a long-term contribution to the discipline of marketing. The award recognizes scholarship based on the benefits of time and hindsight and acknowledges contributions and outcomes made to marketing theory and practice.

Professor Grewal’s article already has over 1600 citations based on Google Scholar and is one of the most cited articles during the selection period.

Dhruv Grewal

Dhruv Grewal (Ph.D. Virginia Tech) is the Toyota Chair in Commerce and Electronic Business and a Professor of Marketing at Babson College. His research and teaching interests focus on direct marketing/e-business, retailing, global marketing, pricing and value-based marketing strategies. He was ranked 1st in the marketing field in terms of publications in the top-six marketing journals during the 1991-1998 period and again for the 2000-2007 period.

He has published over 100 articles in journals such as Journal of Retailing, Journal of Marketing, Journal of Consumer Research, Journal of Marketing Research, and Journal of the Academy of Marketing Science, as well as other journals. He currently serves on numerous editorial review boards, such as Journal of Retailing, Journal of Marketing, Journal of the Academy of Marketing Science, Journal of Interactive Marketing, Journal of Business Research, and Journal of Public Policy & Marketing.
