Babson Graduate Admissions Events: Where we met you in 2016!

The Graduate Admissions team had a wonderful year getting to know so many innovative students, both by travelling abroad and welcoming students to our campuses in Wellesley, Boston, and San Francisco. As we wrap up 2016, we looked back at some of our favorite events of the past year:

Babson Boston Opening- This past Fall, Babson faculty, staff, current students, and alumni joined President Kerry Healey at the official opening of Babson Boston’s new location in the heart of downtown Boston (100 High Street.) The new location offers co-working space for Babson alumni and students and two state-of-the-art classrooms where MBA students can choose to take some of their MBA classes. The opening was a great day of celebration that helped to showcase Babson’s strong presence in the Boston community. – Colleen Hynes, Senior Associate Director

Women’s Preview DayA highlight of the fall is Women’s Preview Day. Each year, we invite women candidates to campus to learn about the multitude of resources available to students. These resources include The Center for Women’s Entrepreneurial Leadership, The WIN Lab, and BAWMBA  (a network of female MBA and MS students providing opportunities to grow personally and professionally through mentor programs, peer-to-peer conversations and networking events)- Karen Kelleher, Events Manager

Welcome DayWelcome Day is a highlight of the year for those of us working with our One-Year and Two-Year MBA candidates.  It is a special opportunity for our newly admitted students to come to campus, often for the first time, to experience the Babson community first hand.  Each year we hear how helpful this event is for newly admitted students as they weigh where they will pursue their MBA studies.  It is a wonderful way to meet future classmates, talk with current students, engage with our faculty, and preview Boston as a potential new home! – Danielle Yetman, Senior Associate Director

MSEL Product Fair and Information SessionEvery Spring our MSEL students present their work from their Leading Entrepreneurial Action Project (LEAP) course at the MSEL Product Fair and Exhibition. This year we coupled this event with a lunch and Information Session, where candidates came to experience the MSEL program for themselves! They were able to see the MSEL in action and it was great practice for our current students to pitch their products and companies. –Jenene Romanucci, Associate Director

Babson Connect in San Francisco- Babson’s San Francisco campus hosts Babson Connect twice a year, and students, alumni, and friends gather to learn from an entrepreneur and network with peers. This year, our speaker was successful French entrepreneur (and current San Francisco resident) Loic Le Meur, Founder & CEO of Leade.rs. – Colleen Hynes, Senior Associate Director

American University of Paris and American University of BulgariaWe put a bit of a twist on our recruitment trips to Paris and Bulgaria this year for our MSA, MSEL, and MSF programs. After participating in the more traditional Fairs, we collaborated with both the American University of Paris and the American University of Bulgaria to offer 1:1 informational interviews, resume reviews, and mock interviews to some of their most promising student groups. It was a great success and a really wonderful way to have a more individualized conversation, really allowing the candidates to get to know us better, and us them as well! – Jenene Romanucci, Associate Director

2017 will be even busier with events for new and prospective students, so check our graduate events page often. We look forward to meeting you in the new year.

Happy Holidays,

Colleen
