Women Entrepreneurial Leaders Disrupting the Status Quo in SF

What an event last night! Together with Babson’s Center for Women’s Entrepreneurial Leadership and the Silicon Vikings, we had a great day of programming on Thursday February 5th. By day we offered one-on-one coaching sessions with seasoned women executives, and by night we listened to TED-talk style presentations featuring women founders. Last night’s guests were Maia Bittner, Co-Founder and CTO of Rocksbox and Kara Goldin, Founder and CEO of Hint Water. Our campus was packed – by the time our speakers took the stage, the place was standing room only!

Both leaders delivered great talks, highlighting their paths to entrepreneurship and the key decisions and influences that pushed them along the way. Goldin spoke of her desire to adopt a healthier lifestyle and help others do the same, which drove her to create a natural beverage with consumers’ wellness in mind. Bittner, a proud alum of Olin College, revealed how a non-traditional education influenced her career and talked about her motivations: drawing feedback from customers and seeing women’s positive reactions to her company’s products. Both Rocksbox and Hint Water are forging ahead with great success thanks to the leadership and vision of these incredible entrepreneurs.

Many thanks to our distinguished speakers and partners for a fantastic night. Be sure to check babson.edu/sanfrancisco for future happenings on campus. We’ll see you at the next event!
