2017 Summer Venture Program Cohort

In 10 days, we will be kicking off the 10th year of the Babson Summer Venture Program! We are excited about the 15 teams this year and are looking forward to hosting the program at Workbar South Station for the second year in a row!

The Summer Venture Program (SVP) is a 10-week intensive experience designed to accelerate the development of entrepreneurial ventures. Since inception, SVP has supported over 220 of the most promising graduate and undergraduate entrepreneurs from Babson, Olin College of Engineering, and Wellesley College. This year is incredibly special, as it will be the 10th summer we are running the program. Stay tuned, as we have a celebration planned in the near future!

Dondoctor (Felipe Acosta MBA’18) is an Airbnb-like online service to find doctors and medical centers in Latin America.

Exclusive (Hari Mahesh ’19) is a personalized digital platform to discover and interact with fashion.

Frostbite Face-Off (Emily Cronin MBA’19) creates fun, coed social/athletic events for coed adult athletes to bond over a shared passion.

Gaido (Marion Benitez MBA’18, Colleen Leung MBA’18 and Mazen Danaf) is an online career counselor that uses machine learning to offer market-driven skills guidance to students at every step of their educational journey.

Gentle (April Chen ’19) bridges the gap between empathy and action through meaningful designed products.

Hope Sews (Maya Mutalik ’21) sells modern clothing made from Ghanaian fabric and provide tailors with electric sewing machines.

ignitED (Mara Steiu ’20, Larissa Moreira ’20 and Georgia Gabriela) is an educational platform in which high school students connect and receive mentoring on the college application process from highly curated, certified college students in the world’s best universities.

Nanny A La Carte (Salimata Bangoura MBA’19) is a one-stop-shop help for working parents with cooking, cleaning, laundry, transportation and childcare.

Shay Jaffar (Shaymaa Gaafar MBA’19) is a luxury ready-to-wear fashion line and marketplace that is transforming modest fashion into glamour

Smask (Dillon Galynsky ’19 and Leny Prog) offers a new discrete smoke filtration device with true authentic feel, while also reducing fume emissions by 99.8% and eliminating odor.

TastePal (Ralph Haddad ’20) allows you to discover and capture experiences built for your own taste.

Waec (Brett Wagner MSEL’18) provides low, cost, last mile delivery for restaurants using autonomous sidewalk robots.

William Palmer Eyewear (William Tanadi ’18) is affordable designer eyewear for the modern millennial of Indonesia.

Wish Route (Jessica Lynch ’13, MS’13, MBA’18) is a monthly subscription service that provides the inspiration, accountability and incentives to help users fulfill their wishes.

At the culmination of the program, the Summer Venture Showcase, the teams present their accomplishments and results of their hard work to investors, and members of the Babson and local startup communities. Save the date for this year’s Summer Venture Showcase: Thursday, July 26!
