Raising a seed round is not an easy task. Hear how Babson venture, Gravyty, raised their round and what happened after as they transitioned from student to full-time entrepreneurs. Gravyty helps nonprofits raise more money and build better relationships with donors. Gravyty was one of 128 finalists in the 2016 MassChallenge.

About Adam Martel, CEO, Gravyty

Adam Martel

As a seasoned major gifts fundraiser, Adam has a deep and personal understanding of the challenges that all nonprofit organizations face while trying to raise money to support their causes. Throughout his years as a front-line fundraiser, Adam has worked with thousands of donors and has helped nonprofit organizations raise millions of dollars.

Before his time as a fundraiser, Adam founded three companies and had a diverse and eclectic background in advertising, public relations, journalism and collegiate athletic coaching. He has also spent time as a senior financial analyst at a major investment management firm where he oversaw an international finance department that guaranteed the accuracy of approximately $50 billion dollars in international and domestic trades.

Adam graduated from Merrimack College with a degree in Communication and Business and is an MBA candidate at Babson College. Adam lives in West Roxbury with his wife and two beautiful daughters.

About Rich Palmer, President & CTO, Gravyty

Rich Palmer

Rich believes that technology and companies are at their best when they augment people and allow them to do things that were previously impossible in simple, cost-effective, and elegant ways.

As a brain aneurysm survivor, Rich has a deeply rooted belief that technology should be used for the positive benefit of people. He strives to scale Gravyty to help nonprofits of all shapes and sizes gain the resources they need to achieve their missions.

Prior to Gravyty, Rich was senior product manager at RelSci, a $120M business connection intelligence platform. He was also the head of portfolio analytics for CapitalIQ and led product development for their quantitative solutions team.

In between, Rich has founded four technology-based companies and was the winner of the 2015-2016 Entrepreneurship Award from Babson College. He has a BS in Economics and Information Technology from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, and an MBA from Babson College.
