Exciting Changes at CWEL

I am delighted to share news of three exciting transitions among the CWEL team. First, Associate Professor Rosa Slegers joined the Center as Faculty Director this semester.

Rosa Slegers

Rosa takes the baton from Associate Professor Marjorie Feld, who is now serving Babson as the Posse Mentor for the class of 2019. Rosa has an innovative agenda for change which we will be rolling out over the next months and years. Stay tuned!

Heatherjean MacNeil

Next, please join me in congratulating Heatherjean MacNeil, former Associate Director of Programs and WIN Lab lead, who will now direct our Global Win Lab’s expansion. In just two years, the WIN Lab has built a national reputation as the ONLY women’s accelerator at a college or university and we envision many opportunities ahead to bring the WIN value proposition to the world. Even better, this new role makes room for Heatherjean’s other exciting new opportunity: pursing a full-time Ph.D. at Bentley in Women’s Entrepreneurship. Kudos HJ!

Meg DeMarco

Meg DeMarco

We are delighted to welcome Meg DeMarco as the Center’s new Associate Director of Programs. Meg joined CWEL in April as a project manager of the exciting new Babson Breakaway Challenge and did a stellar job of leading the fall CWEL program calendar kick-off, including the Women Disrupting Politics event and the CWEL 15th Anniversary reunion weekend celebration. Meg brings a JD and years of higher education experience to the team. Now Meg will unleash her creative talent and program experience on the entire CWEL program portfolio including new initiatives focused on campus-wide Gender Enlightenment and Cross-Center collaborations.

Julie Wong

Julie Wong

The final round of “go girls” goes out to Julie Wong who has taken the lead on the undergraduate CWEL Scholars Program. Julie, who completes her MS in Higher Education this spring, has demonstrated her commitment to developing the next generation of women leaders by redesigning Scholar program objectives and evolving scholarship accountability metrics. Julie is also a powerful role model in her new capacity as the CWEL Scholar FYS instructor.

We all look toward a bright future of the CWEL.
