Building a Killer Ecommerce Product

Other than focusing on creating a great product for the end-user, we have to think a lot about the online experience we offer for shoppers which includes our virtual dress shirt designer app to let guys design their own customized men’s dress shirts. Then for Thread Tradition, we have to think about an easy ordering and re-ordering process to make it simple for guys to get their bespoke dress shirts without the hassle of a tailor. Finally, we have to spend quite a bit of time curating great content for our customization blog and tailor it such that it’s almost like a fun shopping experience when people read about and learn about awesome customization companies.

An ecommerce product is more than just the product for the end user. It involves the technology in the user experience where the visitor purchases the final product even before the transaction is made.

We have a long ways to go in developing our ecommerce offering, but continue to iterate based on user feedback and analytics. This is a hard, uphill battle, but we’re trying.
