5. Your North Star

This summer I have written over 20,000 lines of code, worked 800+ hours, and met some truly incredible people. It is very easy to burn out or get lost in this round-the-clock summer. What kept me in check was knowing what my mentor Darwish calls your “north star.” This is the idea or goal that you are striving and working toward. For me, it was honing my programming skills and forming bonds with some remarkable people. No matter how whacky the path got I always knew what the goal was, and where I needed to go to get that to happen.

So the biggest piece of advice I can tell anyone from my experiences this summer is find your north star and you will be able to conquer whatever task you set your sights on no matter how insane it may seem.
