Navigating the City

Since I work in New York City sometimes I am sent on errands such as mailing packages at the post office or picking up items at various stores. At first, some of these tasks made me nervous because I am not very familiar with New York City but I have actually gotten a lot better at navigating the city because of these tasks. Additionally, it is nice to have a mental break from sitting at a desk all day. Additionally, since I do not live in the city it gives me a little bit more of a chance to explore the areas around me.

I have felt as if I was at a disadvantage by not living in the city because I would learn less about it but when I am sent on errands I am able to see a lot more than I expected I would see this summer. Even though I still do not think I am an expert at getting around I have definitely gotten a lot better.
