A Journey of Opportunities

As a senior in Babson College looking back to where I was four years ago, I never thought I would change and grow so much in such a short amount of time. The core of my personal development over the past few years is learning to shape my own destiny. While this may sound like it was taken right out of a children’s Disney book or an animated movie, I have realized that Kung Fu Panda was right all along – what matters most is “who you choose to be.”

Stepping into Babson College, I arrived with the preconceived notion that I wanted a business education. But what I received over the next four years, I could not have possibly expected. Through the FME Program, I got the opportunity to be part of a student-run business whose profits went towards charity. Being part of the communications team, I learnt that having a successful business not only involves a monetary profit but also having a level of transparency between company members as well. With the help of the Honors Program and Babson’s very own Center for Career Development, I was able to secure a summer program at the London School of Economics as well as an internship opportunity at the National Health Service in London. Through the Management Consulting Field Experience program, I got to be part of a student consulting team for PUMA North America. And the list goes on…

Reflecting on all of these experiences, I surprise myself on what I have achieved in such a short amount of time. As a proud Babson Beaver, I now hold myself as an aspiring consultant, manager, and health-advocate but most importantly of all, I hold myself as someone who has learned to actively become who I choose to be. To all of you who have been given an opportunity to join the B-club, I say, take a closer look. You are in for a great journey!
