Greek Week 2013!

GREEK WEEK

This past week was the highlight (I hope) of most Babson Greek’s year–GREEK WEEK!

During this week, all of the fraternities and sororities compete to win the coveted Fraternity & Sorority Cups.

This year the theme was World Series, and I may be a little bias (since I planned the entire week), but I thought it was a blast!

Monday we had a cook out with the entire Greek Community as an Opening Ceremony, Tuesday Greek Council hosted an event called “Marketing Your Greek Experience”, where Megan Houlker and Lauren DeSoiza (two members of Babson’s Center for Career Development) taught greeks how to market what we do everyday either as a part of the greek community, or with specific leadership positions both on our resume and in an interview.

On thursday we held our annual Greek God & Goddess event, where one member of each fraternity and sorority tested their baseball knowledge and skills–competing for the Greek God Crown & Greek Goddess Tiara.

Friday we headed out to the Park Manor Quad and had an egg toss competition and played dodge ball…and of course, baseball!

Saturday Greek Council held an all-greek semi formal dance, and Sunday we rounded out the week with a closing ceremony including recognizing our Greek organizations that have achieved outstanding chapter GPA’s, made a difference on campus, etc., along with announcing the winners of Greek Week! I was THRILLED that my sorority (Chi Omega) won Greek Week, but even more excited to have the time to come together with the Greeks on campus. It have us a week to step back and remember that we have such a great support system throughout Greek life, not just in our individual organizations, and of course–to have a little fun through friendly competition!
