Who Will Be Mr. and Mrs. Babson?!

An annual tradition that we have here at Babson is our Mr. and Mrs. Babson Competition put on by our Campus Activities Board (or CAB for short), where students nominate other classmates, typically juniors or seniors, to compete for the ultimate title and crazy bragging rights. The contest consists of a friendly competition-this year it was the ever challenging musical chairs set to the tune of the Harlem Shake- a quick game, and a talent portion. Asa was nominated to compete this year and since I can never skip an opportunity to embarrass him fully, I went into paparazzi mode this past Saturday when the competition was held. The following is the result.

This year for Mr. and Mrs. Babson, CAB brought in an outside entertainer to host the show. Because of my old age, my memory has begun to fail me, but I’m pretty sure they brought in someone last year too. This guy went by the name Xclusive, and he was a comedian/dancer/singer/entertainer/all around cool dude who has been on America’s Got Talent, So You Think You Can Dance, and opened for artists such as Trey Songz and Childish Gambino (one of the many fictional loves of my life). He was a crazy dancer and incredibly entertaining. But as you can see from his tweet below, clearly he thought we were too šŸ™‚

This is a problem we run into a lot at Babson.

And much to my surprise another intern, Ronak, made a cameo appearance during another contestant’s talent portion! He had some interesting moves to say the least… “A” for effort, Ronak.

Mr. and Mrs. Babson was also briefly interruptedĀ to announce that our men’s hockey team had just won ECAC Championships which was met with a roar of cheers and applause! We were all so proud of them and we’re getting super excited for their first round of NCAA on Wednesday!! Their game conflicts with my really important/super serious intramural dodgeball playoff game, but I will definitely be at the first half of the hockey game. It’s a can’t miss in terms of school pride and rowdiness.Ā I was pretty stoked that my hockey friends were bringing home such an awesome win, but you can imagine howĀ devastatedĀ I was that Asa was robbed of the Mr. Babson title. Most importantly, it made my creepy pictures a lot creepier than I initially expected them to be…. The winner put up a good fight, so I will give him credit where it is due. Congratulations to seniors, Duke McMorris (who performed a beautiful rendition of Celine Dion’s “My Heart Will Go On”) and Christy Laubauch on your wins!Ā The winners of Mr. and Mrs. Babson were also given the chance to announce our spring concert coming up in April and it’s going to beĀ Steve Aoki!!Ā I am so excited it’s not even real. It’s going to beĀ awesome.Ā I’ll probably have to duke it out with the other interns for dibs on the Spring Concert blog .
