Raising Money, Having Fun, Helping Others
Sorority women across campus have been busy raising money for different philanthropies. Last Friday, Sigma Kappa hosted an Alex & Ani Bangle Bar. For those who do not know, Alex & Ani make trendy bracelets that are quite popular in the New England area. Twenty percent of all proceeds were donated to the Sigma Kappa Foundation which supports a number of charities including Maine Sea Coast Mission and Alzheimer’s/Gerontology research. On Thursday, Chi Omega will be hosting its semi-annual Chi Hop event. The women serve pancakes and bacon to students, faculty, staff, and neighboring community members for 13 hours. All donations go to Make-a-Wish Foundation. Finally, on Saturday, Kappa Kappa Gamma will be putting on its annual fall fashion show that raises money for the organization “Dress for Success.” All three sororities on campus enjoy helping those in need.
