“The best gifts come from the heart, not the store.”

Reporting to you LIVE from Red Bank, New Jersey!

Before heading out on the road for travel, several colleagues told me that some high schools give “goodie bags” to visiting Admission Counselors. Immediately I felt a wave of nostalgia for my elementary school days when we all used to receive goodie bags before leaving birthday parties. Needless to say, I was excited; however, I didn’t realize how much these goodie bags would truly make my day until I received my first ones.

It’s amazing how much you appreciate bottled water, granola bars, mints, etc. when you are on-the-go 24/7 and don’t always have time to eat lunch at a “normal hour.” A gift, no matter how big or small, can go a long way. Speaking of gifts

As my third week of travel comes to a close, I am beyond impressed by the students I’ve met, especially the activities and organizations that they dedicate so much time toward. I’m talking about students who have incredible talents and don’t necessarily use these gifts to better themselves, but to better others.  I’ve spoken with so many fine young men and women who are so passionate about giving back; they recognize their blessings and want to share them with those who are less fortunate. These students are creating small businesses just to donate money to charity, volunteering at Hospices, teaching terminally ill children how to ski/snowboard, coaching children with special needs and so much more! Thank you for sharing your gifts in the past and present, but also make sure you share them with us in the future too! What do I mean?

One of the most important aspects of your application to Babson College will be your extracurricular activities, including work experience, leadership positions, community service, etc. Not only do we want to enroll a class of bright young adults, but we want to enroll students who will join our 90+ clubs and organizations, and possibly create new ones as well! Please make sure that you take the time to tell us how you spend your time outside of the classroom. Your gifts and talents are important to our Admission Staff.
