Kick Off the Fall With Resume Critique Night!

Once again, Babson is buzzing with the start of a new semester; welcome back! The first signs of Autumn are here and with them come the beginning of a new recruiting season. Exciting new changes have taken place here in the Undergraduate Center for Career Development. We can’t wait to show you what’s in store, but also encourage you to come down to the office to take advantage of all the resources that we have to offer! We’ll kick off this semester with the best resume critique yet to date this September 12th from 6-8 pm in Knight Auditorium. However, mark your calendars for the Fall Career Expo on September 20th with over 70 recruiting employers; it’s the networking event that you simply cannot miss.

Resume Critique Night is hosted specifically in preparation for next week’s Career Expo. Both employers and alumni will provide students with their expertise and critiques over 10 minute individual sessions.  This event is an incredible way to network and to ensure that your resume is at its best possible for the Career Fair.

Below are the companies from which representatives will be providing the critiques:

  • Biogen Idec
  • Bluewolf Consulting
  • Boston Scientific
  • Cambridge Associates
  • Clarkston Consulting
  • Comcast
  • Constant Contact
  • Ernst & Young
  • The Hanover Insurance Group
  • The Hartford Financial Services Group
  • Hitachi Consulting
  • Innosight
  • iProspect
  • James Lam & Associates
  • McGladrey
  • MyRozi
  • Northwestern Mutual
  • Pearl Meyer & Partners
  • PricewaterhouseCoopers
  • Ross Stores
  • Sapient
  • Simpletuition

However, in addition to resume critiques, this year we will be offering feedback regarding student LinkedIn profiles. Bluewolf Consulting and Sapient have even offered to add students into their own LinkedIn community if they are impressed with the student’s profile–a fantastic networking opportunity. We are also offering a LinkedIn profile picture station where students can take a professional photograph to associate with their LinkedIn account.

You should dress in professional or casual business attire and should bring multiple hard copies of your resume.  If you intend to have a photo taken to upload to your LinkedIn account, please avoid bright or neon colors, bold patterns, or solid black/gray/white shirts (unless under a sweater or jacket).

So check up on your resume and LinkedIn profile beforehand, and make sure to be in Knight Auditorium at 6pm. Also, do your homework; take a look at the list of employers who will be attending and make sure that you know background and other related information on the companies that interest you most. See you there!
