“Pat, WAKE UP so I don’t have to listen to High School Musical!” New Orleans Day 4!

Greetings from our LAST POST ON BON JOVI BLVD!

Today we chose to wake up the house by blasting High School Musical. We refused to turn it off until Pat Wolenter finally got up and left the room so the girls could change. So Doug “One-Way” Pottle stood there kicking Pat’s air matress for a good 3 or 4 minutes screaming until he finally woke up. Looks like our group is not filled with fans of High School Musical.

Today, we both got locked in/outside of the house we were working on. Our Americorps supervisor, “Macc,” had issues with the lock, which he forgot to unlock before removing from the door. So for 5 minutes, Marissa was trapped outside and Melissa was trapped inside, and we felt pretty pathetic. On a positive note, we had a sing-along dance party because we were the only ones finishing the painting while the rest of the group started next door. It was fantastic, we promise. You should’ve been there. Seriously.

This is our last post from Bon Jovi Blvd. because we will be moving into a HOTEL in New Orleans for tonight. We are more than a little bit pumped and are somehow cramming 15 students into 2 rooms. It doesn’t sound very different from we’re doing over here! Then we will spend tonight and tomorrow in the city before flying home.

In your face El Salvador. 4-2, we’re beating you,
