It’s crazy to think that after being back at Babson for only a month and a half or so that it’s already time for mid-terms! For some reason, it always seems like there is this “mid-term” week and everything always piles up at once…that’s if you let it, of course. The threat of an impending mid-term exam isn’t really that scary if you think about it. Granted, if you are taking a really tough course it may be a little nerve-wracking, especially if the subject matter isn’t your strong point. There are a couple of things you can do throughout the semester to minimize stress during your exam period. It seems rather silly to write them down, but here they are: 1. go to class; 2. pay attention during class (no laptops!); 3. keep up with your work when it is assigned and 4. time management is KEY. I am obviously a culprit of all four of these situations…we’ve all been there. Cramming for an exam does work sometimes, but if you just take the time during the semester to do your work and keep up with classwork, it makes exam week THAT much easier. I just took my Psychology exam this morning and have two more exams, Security Valuation and Operations Research, tomorrow. After finishing your core requirements, you can begin taking classes for your concentration if you choose to have one. It seems that this ‘mid-term week’ is different for concentrations, whereas during freshman and sophomore year, my friends and I were on the same schedule. It’s great to have friends to study with, especially to bounce ideas back and forth. But no matter what the circumstance, and to put it into perspective, it’s just a mid-term after all, and this ‘mid-term’ week will end. (Tomorrow afternoon for me!) |
