NFTE’s Youth Entrepreneurship Summit At Babson

The next generation of entrepreneurs will convene at NFTE New England’s Youth Entrepreneurship Summit (YES!) at Babson College on November 17th.  NFTE (Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship) will host over 300 young people and 50 volunteers at the region’s largest conference targeting NFTE students, ages 14 to 18, with a focus on enhancing their educational journey and entrepreneurial mindset. Partner school communities include Boston, Chelsea, Malden, Lowell, Easton/Brocton and New Bedford, Massachusetts, Hartford CT, and Providence, RI.

Who: Over 300 NFTE New England students from under-resourced communities tackle the entrepreneurial mindset, career readiness and college preparedness in interactive sessions with business leaders and educators.

When: Friday, November 17, 20178:30 am – 1:30 pm

Where: Babson College Wellesley Campus

Schedule: 8:30 am – 9:30 am Welcome; 9:30 am – 12:00 pm Interactive Workshop Sessions; 12:00 pm – 1:30 pm Entrepreneurial Mindset Expo; Student Business Pitch Competition; Alumni Keynote address

Interactive Workshop Sessions include Entrepreneurship and Start Up, Career Readiness and College Preparedness. Real world advice from entrepreneurs will range from the market potential of an idea to pricing strategies, competitive advantages and financial feasibility. Business leaders will share their entrepreneurial journey by highlighting their triumphs and failures, and discussing how to turn an idea into a thriving enterprise.  Students will gain an understanding of why small businesses and large corporations alike value the entrepreneurial mindset within their companies to help them solve the greatest challenges in a global economy.

NFTE Alumni Keynote Speaker: Olivia Nguyen, 27-year-old NFTE alumni, supporter and volunteer, is a self-taught Pop Artist, known as “Fiyabomb,” with a signature style of outstanding colors and solid consistency.  Her paintings reflect her personal experiences, and she has close to 24,000 social media followers.  She attributes her success in business to building on her foundation of NFTE experiences.
