The Brighton Center location on Washington Street has opened for business, joining locations at Coolidge Corner, West Roxbury and Newtonville.

According to Dan, Los Amigos Taqueria is a new fast-casual restaurant serving authentic Mexican cuisine with a contemporary twist.

“Our focus is on using local products that are prepared in the healthiest ways, made fresh daily and served fast. We use only the ripest, organic Hass avocados to make the best-tasting guacamole you’ve ever had! By using local products, we are able to source all antibiotic and hormone free proteins,” he said.

At Babson, he had considered going into finance but decided that he wanted to be his own boss, just like his father, who owns a successful pizza shop in Massachusetts. “You’re doing your own thing, instead of following the corporate world,” he says.

Ustayev’s entry into the world of restaurant ownership happened his senior year at Babson, when he opened his first location in West Roxbury.

Luckily, Ustayev had his Dad advise him. “It’s tough out there by yourself,” Ustayev says. “The real world is not easy,” he tells Babson Magazine.

Los Amigos is the latest in a long line of family businesses and food-service business to come out of Babson College, the top-ranked college in the U.S. for the study of entrepreneurship.

Ustayev finds satisfaction in feeding his customers, and he hopes to open more Los Amigos in the future. “This is my baby. I take care of it,” he told the magazine.

“We are excited to be a part of your community and can’t wait for you to dine with us!”
