Babson was rated a ‘Rising Star – Gold’ and earned a 15-point increase in its overall score from its previous report in The Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education’s (AASHE) 2015 Sustainable Campus Index.

Babson was specifically commended for its efforts in Career Development –“Babson College’s Undergraduate Center for Career Development has a staff member dedicated to helping students find careers in the environmental sustainability and social impact fields. Employers in these areas are hosted on campus, and students connect with the organizations and become exposed to non-traditional opportunities such as the Peace Corps.”

The AASHE report highlights top-performing colleges and universities in 17 areas, as measured by the Sustainability Tracking, Assessment & Rating System (STARS). The report also highlights best practices from over 50 U.S., Canadian and Mexican institutions.

According to Dallase Scott, Director of Babson’s Sustainability Office, “The STARS rating is testament to our mission of guiding the integration of sustainability into Babson’s core values and to build awareness of the impacts that personal and organizational decisions have on the environment and society.”
