Announcement Regarding Dennis Hanno

This is a copy of a message emailed to the on-campus community this morning from President Kerry Healey.

Dear Babson Community,

As you may have heard, Dennis Hanno will be stepping down from his current role as Provost, effective June 30, to become the new president of Wheaton College in Norton, Massachusetts. During his years at Babson, Dennis has been an outstanding leader, teacher, mentor and friend to so many of our students, staff, faculty and alumni. I know you all will join me in congratulating him on his new appointment and wishing him every success as President of Wheaton College.

Dennis has left an indelible mark on Babson by living our mission to educate entrepreneurial leaders who create social and economic value everywhere. Whether on campus or in Rwanda—in class, as dean and as provost—Dennis never missed an opportunity to connect learning with life experience. He inspired our students and community members to look at the world differently, and to take action to change it for the better.

I look forward to working closely with Dennis over the next several months to ensure a smooth transition and maintain continuity on key issues affecting the College, including the graduate school dean search. Dennis’ institutional knowledge, experience and insight will also be of great value to me, and our community, as we work to identify potential provost candidates who share Dennis’ passion and enthusiasm for Babson College.

In the coming week, I will be working with the SEC to appoint a search committee to begin the process of identifying our next provost, but for now, I hope you will join me in wishing Dennis great success in this new chapter in his life.

All the best,

Kerry Healey
