Enable women to free themselves from the side effects of birth control and pregnancy achievement drugs through the Fertility Awareness Method (FAM).
Alumni Name and Contact Information:
Daniel Graf MBA’2012
p: 857-255-3300, ext. 313
Founder’s Past Life/Business:
Daniel is an Information systems engineer by ITESM’06. Right out of college, Daniel developed the acquisition and expansion strategy for developing the pilot franchise for Interlingua (Mexico’s leading ESL training centers) in his hometown of Monterrey. The strategy resulted in the successful sale of the business to the franchisor in 5-year timeframe. During his MBA studies, he interned as an analyst for Alta Ventures (Mexico’s first technology focused venture fund). There, he led due diligence efforts for several portfolio investments in the clean-tech and healthcare space. Daniel practices kung-fu, and also enjoys surfing.
How The Idea Began:
Ovatemp began with Daniel’s wife frustration with current FAM solution in the marketplace. We knew that FAM was the best possible way to avoid the side effects and inherent risks of hormonal contraception. However, after a couple of years using FAM her frustrations led her to question if there was a better way to help women follow the method. Together Ana and Daniel slowly have been working to develop a much better solution not only for FAM, but to the whole birth control and pregnancy achievement experience of women.
Favorite Thing About The Business:
In 2005 the World Health Organization reclassified the Pill as “Carcinogenic to Humans”. It became a Group 1 carcinogen, the same as tobacco and asbestos. If successful our business will enable women to stop taking hormonal contraception and pregnancy achievement drugs.
Worst Thing About The Business:
We will have to beat huge players in the industry.
