Improved Relevance Ranking in EBSCOhost Databases
At the beginning of August, users of EBSCOhost databases may note two changes in the defaults for searching and for how results are sorted:
1) The Result List sort will be defaulted to Relevance, from the current Date Sort.
2) To accomodate the new Result List sort default, the default search option will be changed from phrase searching to proximity searching. This means that rather than searching for the search terms as a phrase as if enclosed in quotation marks, the terms will be searched as if they occur within five words of each other.
