Marketing EDGE Names Babson’s Dhruv Grewal 2017 Robert B. Clarke Outstanding Educator Award Honoree

Marketing EDGE, a nonprofit education organization, today announced that Dhruv Grewal, Ph.D., Toyota Chair in Commerce and Electronic Business and a Professor of Marketing at Babson College, will receive this year’s Robert B. Clarke Outstanding Educator Award, recognizing an academician’s overall achievement and leadership in marketing education.

The honor will be presented among marketing educators at the 2017 Marketing EDGE Summit  Awards Luncheon on Sunday, October 8, at the Ernst N. Morial Convention Center, New Orleans, LA.

The Summit will be held in conjunction with the Data & Marketing Association’s conference, which takes place at the same location from October 8-10, 2017.

“Dr. Grewal’s countless publications, awards, acknowledgements and service roles make an airtight case for his selection as the Marketing EDGE Outstanding Educator,” said Marketing EDGE President Terri L. Add to his body of work a number of marketing and retailing textbooks, executive training, and research projects with global corporations – clearly he’s setting a bar for those who follow in his footsteps.”

“I am honored and humbled to be selected for the 2017 Robert B. Clarke Outstanding Educator Award,” Dr. Grewal said.  “The marketing field is dynamically changing with a growing focus on insights and customer engagement. I hope to continue to conduct research and teaching endeavors to prepare students and businesses to be successful in changing times.”

Dr. Grewal has more than 30 published articles in Financial Times’ list of 45 business journals – focusing on direct, data and digital marketing, e-commerce, pricing, global marketing, value-based marketing and retailing. He also is one of a handful of marketing scholars to be listed in the prestigious Thomson Reuters Most Influential Researchers and Highly Cited Researchers in the 21st Century.  In 2011, he served as conference co-chair for the Marketing EDGE Research Summit. He has garnered numerous awards his teaching, for his research, and Lifetime Achievement Awards from marketing academic societies and universities.

Professor Grewal also has taught executive seminars/courses and/or worked on research projects with numerous firms, such as Dell, TJX, McKinsey, MetLife, AT&T, Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company, Sherwin Williams, ExxonMobil and numerous law firms. He has taught seminars in the US, Europe and Asia.

The Robert B. Clarke Outstanding Educator Award recognizes an academician’s overall achievement in marketing education. It is based on an educator’s record of teaching, writing, research, and speaking.
