My (short) journey at Babson….

This is my first blog article, so forgive me if you do not like what I have written. I started writing on a topic for the blog only to realize that I was running terribly short of ideas. Looks like all those entries on my Google calendar are playing on my mind. However, I promise that my next blog will surely meet your expectations.

Here goes my story…

My Babson journey began in the summer of 2011, yes that is right; this is when the whole world was on a vacation apart from 79 students on campus.  The one year MBA program (now do you realize why the title says ‘short’) began with a word of caution from the seniors who indicated that we all were going to enter the toughest phase of our lives and that we would be lucky enough to survive the perils of the summer module.  True to the prediction, the summer module was rigorous and challenged every inch of my mental capability. Classes, homework (after almost 10 years I went back to homework), presentations, and lack of sleep became a norm. However, this wasn’t as bad as it sounds. Amidst this entire circus, we all got a chance to explore Boston, especially the wonderful sights that the city has to offer and who can forget the parties at the Roger’s pub on campus. Before I realized, the module came to an end, but not before I had read almost 80 cases and completed 15 courses in a span of 4 months. Phew! That was an amazing feat isn’t it? The academics were fun even though at times one would feel pressurized.  The capstone simulation is worth a mention here as it was one of the highlights of the module.

The Babson MBA gave me an opportunity to mingle with a diverse group of students from across the globe and share different cultures. Also, even though we were divided between two sections, the entire batch behaved like one big happy family. The end of the summer module was an emotional moment and everyone including myself had mixed feelings. Within no time fall has set in. Clubs, events, research, job search and of course more credits to complete. There never seems to be a dull moment.

The journey so far has been exciting and enriching. As someone rightly said, ‘Where you end up is not the most important thing. It’s the road you take to get there. The road is what you’ll look back on and call your life’.
