We are thrilled to announce that Kevin Colleran ‘03, Founder and Managing Director, Slow Ventures, and one of the first 10 employees at Facebook, will be speaking at this year’s Summer Venture Showcase!
Kevin Colleran is the Managing Director of Slow Ventures, a Seed stage venture capital firm that manages nearly $250M financed by nearly 100 technology company Founders/CEOs, other notable venture capital firms, and large endowments. At Slow, Kevin focuses on early stage investing in consumer and enterprise tech startups as well as tech-enabled consumer brands. Some of Slow’s portfolio companies including Pinterest, AngelList, Allbirds, Casper, Slack, Nextdoor, Wealthfront, Postmates, Brandless, Wag, Robinhood, and hundreds more.
Prior to focusing full time on Slow, Kevin was a Venture Partner at General Catalyst Partners, a large national VC firm based in Boston, San Francisco, and New York.
Kevin was one of the first 10 employees at Facebook, having joined in early 2005 as one of the first advertising sales people. Kevin worked as the Global Advertising Lead for Facebook’s relationship with key advertisers including Procter & Gamble, Coca-Cola, Walmart, and other notable global brands. Kevin stayed at Facebook for nearly 7 years as Facebook grew from 10 to more than 5,000 employees and from one million to nearly a billion users. Kevin left Facebook in 2011 after having become the longest tenured employee at the company other than Mark Zuckerberg.
Kevin graduated Magna Cum Laude from Babson College in Wellesley, MA in 2003 and was the recipient of an Honorary Doctorate Degree in 2015 when he gave Commencement Speech to the undergraduate graduating class. He resides in Boston with his wife and two children.
