Winter/Spring 2018 at the Blank Center is HOT!

With 2017 in the rear view mirror, we are already in the thick of things, planning an awesome 2018 for our great community of Babson entrepreneurs. Here’s a quick run-down of some of the things coming up. Not included here are our ongoing activities such as expert office hours, mentor meetings, cohort meetings, and other cool events we’ll think of as we get into the semester. Jan. 29th at 5pm in Olin 101 – Butler Launch Pad Info Session. Come learn all about the Butler Launch Pad and how we can help you on your startup journey. We’ll share all the resources and opportunities that come with being a member of the Launch Pad. All students and alumni welcome.

Jan. 30th at 5pm – B.E.T.A. Challenge Info Session. Our new venture competition starts to ramp up! There are 3 tracks for B.E.T.A. Challenge, one for alumni, grad students and undergrad students. The winner of each track gets $20K and other in-kind prizes to help you take your venture to the next level.

Feb. 4th – Hatchery applications due. If you want office space in one of the hatcheries, you need to get your application in on time. It can be found on StartupTree.

Feb. 5thSummer Venture Program Early Apps open – Are you ready to apply? If you can, getting on our radar with an Early App can help your chances of being selected for SVP. Don’t delay!

Feb. 5th at 5pm – Summer Venture Program Info Session – Students, come learn about our award winning summer program. This 10 week intensive accelerator in Boston takes our top 15 student ventures through an exciting and jam-packed living / learning experience.

Feb. 8th and 9th – Fashion Entrepreneurial Initiative hosts Imagine-A-thon

Feb. 13th at 5pm – Our practical and helpful How2Tuesday sessions begin again. We’ve got some really interesting topics we’ll explore this semester. Don’t miss out. Happens every Tuesday at 5pm.

Feb. 15th at 5pm in Olin Hall – Jeff Bussgang, well-known tech Venture Capitalist and HBS lecturer will be sharing insights on working in startups from his new book, Entering Startupland. Jeff is an amazing speaker, all students and alumni are invited. Sign up here, space is limited >>

Feb. 28th – Seed Fund Applications due. Need some money to get to the next step with your venture? Grants from the Blank Center seed fund (up to $5K) are awarded to those who can demonstrate that they are gaining momentum with their venture. Applications are reviewed only two times per year, this is one of them, so don’t miss out! You can find the application on StartupTree. Learn more >>

Apr. 4th B.E.T.A. Challenge Semifinals in Olin Hall – check out who made the cut. The set of 18 semifinalists will showcase their companies in a high energy open forum.

Apr. 12th B.E.T.A. Challenge Finals in Olin Hall – the big day! Down to 9 finalists (3 in each track), it’s an exciting and intense pitch event, with the winners announced live. Find out who wins $20K in cash and takes away the bigtime bragging rights as the winner of B.E.T.A. Challenge 2018.
