BRIC travels to St. Petersburg

Through our endeavors in China, we can honestly say that we have wrapped up our time in Shanghai with a great finish. Through our final feasibility studies, we have grasped a better sense of the market in China. Many of us have been out and about in our feasibility studies and talked to many local people who took the time out of their day in order to talk with us and share their insights. Several of our speakers have shared their insights with us regarding the differences in the market when compared to the United States. We made lots of friends who helped us as young individuals how we can grow and develop in the emerging markets of China. Considering how different the business practices are compared to the West, there was a lot for us to learn. There are a lot off unseen opportunities in China that we were not able to see beforehand from an outsider perspective. Through all of the final projects, the students were fully immersed into the Chinese culture and understood the Chinese marketplace better through all of the different perspectives during our time abroad. After our time in China, we were prepared for a new change in our surroundings. We boarded a plane early morning to Russia which was a rough ride, and safely made it to the land of ballet and pierogis. The first thing we noticed was the weather change coming from China to Russia. We were wearing our wool jackets and boots which was a contrast when compared to Shanghai. Through this, we are prepared to learn about the new culture and hopefully create new memories while in Russia. We have all been assigned readings to help us understand the differences in cultures which will hopefully minimize our culture shock when we arrive. We are all excited for the new environment and we are ready for our new adventures to begin in St. Petersburg!
