Remembering Nelson Mandela’s Long Walk to Freedom

Post by Marjorie Feld, Associate Professor of History; Faculty Director, Center for Women’s Entrepreneurial Leadership

We pause today to acknowledge the death of Nelson Mandela, whose leadership of the anti-apartheid movement changed the course of world history and who dedicated his life to the liberation of all people.  Mandela’s life was marked as much by sacrifice as it was by strength, grace, and humility.   We express our admiration for his openness to forgiveness, to new ways of thinking and knowing,  as we work toward the world of peace that he envisioned.
