5 Tips For Going Global: The Name

Your brand name is a very important thing when it comes to your company. It is the thing that consumers learn to buy and trust. Once you decide on a brand name you need to stick with it, so think long and hard about it. Some of the more famous brand names would be McDonald’s, Coke and more. The brand name doesn’t need to mean something and can literally be a made up word, it is just a name after all, but when you pick it you should keep that name for when you go global. Some brands like to change their names once they get out of the U.S. while the U.S. brand stays the same name. This leads to confusion and kills the reputation your product has for the globe.

Being able to go global all starts with your first few meetings and sessions of planning. Being global, or helping globally, anything related to being global or wanting to be global should be something in your business’s culture from the start. Using the name of your town isn’t the best idea. This and you need to keep that culture of your business the same all the time. Changing your methods or reasons half way would not sit well with many people. Build towards the global market but do so from the start. It is also a great idea to watch the trends of other companies in your industry.
