Finding The Right Person For The Job
The hiring process is one of the hardest part of being a startup, but without doubt, one of the most important. Like all other startups, we want great people on our team. We believe that if we hire smart and talented people who’d be willing to learn from us and who’d fully support us in all our endeavors as a company, we will be stronger and won’t break.
But it wasn’t easy.
I remember when the first time we tried outsourcing. We hired a couple of web developers to design our website but that didn’t go too well. We also arranged for interns to join our team. That didn’t go too well either but we learned from each experience. Now we are more determined about taking in the right people more than ever.
One of the most important things we learned is also one of the basics when hiring. We learned that it is important to look at the person’s personality, not just his work experiences or his educational background. It is also important that you hire a person with great motivation and strong work ethics.
Finding the right person for the job can be very difficult and usually takes a lot of time but it can save you a lot of headaches later on.
